You may have guessed it already from this expression's name, but the Isle of Jura Seven Wood is made with whisky drawn from seven different types of cask. These include casks made with American white oak, limousin, tronçais, allier, vosges, bertranges and jupilles. Intriguing stuff, this.
Tasting Notes :
Nose: Nutmeg, strawberry jam on toast, Brazil nuts.
Palate: Lemon peel, sawdust, apricot and cooked peach.
Finish: Heavy vanilla. A hint of smoke develops.
