The 12-year-old edition of Connemara single malt has a full, rounded and complex flavour that is both smooth and smoky at the same time. The peat smoke is well integrated and is perhaps a little less pronounced than with the standard bottling and the cask strength.
Tasting Notes:
Appearance: Very pale yellow.
Nose: Fresh and lively. Lemon and orange zest with a touch of creamy vanilla. Some restrained and harmonious peat smoke.
Palate: Initially sweet and fruity but with some very welcome smoke. Flavours of pears, apples, vanilla cream and a touch of gingery, spicy oak. Quite light in body with some typical Bourbon cask character.
Finish: Medium, smoke, turfo, burned wood, lemon and a little fruit.
Land: Ireland
Distillery: Kilbeggan
Alcohol by volume: 40%
