A rare 10 year old from the Eastern Highland distillery, Teaninich. The Flora and Fauna series are becoming increasingly rare.
What a superb malt this is! Largely ignored and unmarketed it is a pearl! A subtle floral nose of citrus, vanilla and barley is followed by a wonderful taste of soft malt and a glorious spicy crescendo. Once again it proves if you want a distillery's true taste then the Flora and Fauna expressions are the ones to choose.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fresh and clean, slightly lemony, light and grassy, somewhat out of round and alcoholic.
Palate: Wine notes, malt and sweet herbs, green bananas, frozen peas, surprisingly powerful.
Finish: Very strong aftertaste, lots of herbs, very long aftertaste, but not very complex.
Land: Scotland
Distillery: Teaninich
Alcohol by volume: 46%
