Death's Door Gin has a surprisingly simple botanical mix of juniper berries, coriander and fennel. Using a mix of juniper berries that includes the wild juniper of Washington Island (Juniperus virginiana) with coriander and fennel seeds, Death's Door Spirits is able to showcase how complementary and complex simple expressions can be. In fact, you can taste all three botanicals: loaded juniper berries up front; spicy, citrusy notes from the coriander seeds in the mid-palate; and a soft, cooling finish provided by the fennel seeds.  Death's Door Gin is big enough to stand up to classic or vintage cocktail treatment, but soft enough to be enjoyed on the rocks or as a dry martini.  It truly is the "utility" gin of our time.

Geranium Gin has a gentle mix of juniper and floral notes both on the nose and palate. The gin feels smooth and light, but all the flavours are there. It’s not overtly floral or too complicated to discern what’s in the glass. The spices anchor the top notes and at 44% ABV the spirit is both botanically balanced and carries well in a G&T, without any unwanted alcoholic heat. Firm but fair so to speak…

An Hors d'Age Armagnac from Comte de Lauvia, made using Ugni Blanc, Baco Blanc and Folle Blanche grapes. As with their other expressions, Comte de Lauvia have 'double matured' this Armagnac in local black oak casks, initially in new wood for several months, before being moved to second or third fill casks for a further period of around 2 years. After this, they're moved to older casks, with this expression made up of vintages dating back to the early 1970s and spanning almost 30 years!

Tasting Notes :

Appearance : Amber, Mahogany

Nose: Chocolate and Mississippi mud pie with marmalade developing, becoming increasing zesty. Fig rolls and vanilla custard emerge with hints of menthol and cigar box.

Palate: Earthy butterscotch and Toffee crossing into nutty, slightly rancio notes

Finish: Sweet with mixed peels, orange oil and light hazelnut
