It’s a classic “sherry‑bomb”, i.e. a whisky with intense sherry cask influence: dark fruits, chocolate, nuts, dried fruit, sweet spice.

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: deep mahogany / black‑garnet, reflecting its rich sherry‑cask heritage.

Nose: Aromas of mocha, dark chocolate, black cherries, raisin‑like dried fruit, and hints of crème brûlée (caramelized sugar, brown sugar), plus touches of ginger and brown sugar.

Palate: On the palate it’s velvety, dense and indulgent: expect layers of espresso, crème caramel, dark grape / black grape, mint‑chocolate ganache, and rich dried fruit (plum, raisin, dates).

Finish: Medium‑long to long finish, with lingering dark fruit, chocolate, sherried richness, and a gentle spicy or nutty trailing note (sometimes pepper, oak, or dried fruit bitterness).

Single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at natural colour, non chill‑filtered. Matured in a combination of Spanish sherry casks (Oloroso or Pedro Ximénez) and ruby Port casks from the Douro Valley (Portugal).

Tasting Notes:

Appearance: Deep amber

Nose: On the nose, expect red fruits (raspberry, strawberry jam), black‑currant, and sweet red berries, combined with floral and fruity notes. ⁠Subtle hints of rose petal florals, raw barley sugars, and gentle spices (ginger, cinnamon, black pepper) may emerge with some air.

Palate: ⁠On the palate, it tends towards bright fruits — red and black berries (currant, raspberry, blackberry), perhaps some plum — with sugary‑sweet notes.  

⁠In addition to fruitiness, there are layers of vanilla, light cocoa or mild chocolate nibs, some bar‑ley‑sugar or cereal sweetness, and gentle oak influence.

Finish: Finish tends to be short to medium: lingering fruit sweetness (berry jam, red fruits), with faint echoes of spice, gentle oak, maybe some cocoa or dark chocolate tones.

This edition is produced by the Belgian brewery/distillery Brouwerij Het Anker (Geraardsbergen, Belgium), under the Gouden Carolus brand.  It is labelled as the “12th Anniversary Edition Giverny 2025”.

As an anniversary edition, the Giverny 2025 is limited and collectible; its maturation via multiple barrel types suggests a complex flavour profile.

Appearance : Soft pink‑hued spirit, inspired by the apple‑blossom landscapes of Giverny.  

Nose: Floral and fruity notes, with a subtle apple‑wood character 

Palate: Richer texture, hints of vanilla and oak (bourbon), then matured apple‑wood, dried fruit and mild spice

Finish: Balanced, elegant, with lingering orchard‑fruit and wood‑cask complexity
