Stijl: Krachtige, geconcentreerde en expressieve rode wijn die de typische diepte van de Malbec combineert met een opmerkelijke frisheid, elegantie en een fijne minerale spanning.

Vinificatiegegevens: De druiven worden biologisch geteeld en handmatig geoogst. De vinificatie vindt plaats op basis van uitsluitend natuurlijke (indigene) gisten, met een gerichte parcellaire aanpak om het specifieke terroir van de streek optimaal te respecteren.

C’est la parcelle la plus occidentale du Domaine. Orientés plein Sud, nos Côts y bénéficient d’un bain de soleil généreux, tout en haut du plateau surplombant Pocé-sur-Cisse et le Château de Fourchette, où une légende du rock coule des jours heureux à la campagne. Nulle trace de silex ici, nous sommes à l’Ouest du plateau et des argiles peu épaisses laissent vite place à un calcaire dense de l’ère turonienne. Les plantes âgées de 45 ans livrent des vins structurés, concentrés en fruit et charnus. Sur les millésimes solaires, les vins se parent d’un charme puissant et épicé évoquant des Côts plus « sudistes ». Le terroir de tuffeau n’est pas en reste. Il offre une trame saline et la fine touche de fraîcheur qui vient équilibrer la dégustation.

Proefnotitie: Een diepe granaatrode kleur met een expressieve neus die barst van de aroma's van rijpe zwarte vruchten, zwarte kersen, pruimen en subtiele florale toetsen. In de mond is de wijn vol, fluweelzacht en fondant, met een mooie structuur van fijne tannines en een levendige, frisse afdronk.

Foodpairing: Deze genereuze rode wijn past uitstekend bij rood vlees, gegrild lamsvlees, eendenborst of klassieke vleesgerechten zoals een tournedos Rossini.

Uitleg over het wijnhuis: Domaine Bonnigal-Bodet is gelegen in Limeray op de noordelijke oever van de Loire nabij Amboise. Het domein staat onder leiding van Jean-Baptiste Bonnigal (vertegenwoordiger van de vierde generatie) en zijn jeugdvriend Stéphane Bodet. Hazelburn 7 Years Old Oloroso Cask Matured (2018/2026 Release) is a limited single malt Scotch whisky from Campbeltown, representing the unpeated and triple-distilled style of the Springbank distillery. Fully matured for seven years entirely in 100% Oloroso sherry casks, this expression provides a rich, complex, and full-bodied contrast to the brand's bourbon-matured flagship expressions.

Tasting Notes:

The nose opens with rich, inviting aromas of maraschino cherries, fudge, treacle, dates, and brandy butter. On the palate, it delivers a sweet and warmly spiced profile of brown sugar, ginger, raisins, and red currant jelly. The finish is long and satisfying, featuring notes of sweet sticky toffee pudding, black currants, herbs, and tarragon.

Distillery:

The Springbank Distillery, situated in Campbeltown, Scotland, was founded in 1828 by Archibald Mitchell and remains one of the oldest independently family-owned distilleries in Scotland, still operated by his descendants through J. & A. Mitchell & Co. Springbank is uniquely self-sufficient and traditional, handling 100% of the whisky-making process on-site, from traditional floor maltings and mashing in a century-old cast-iron mash tun to bottling without chill-filtration or added coloring. The distillery is renowned for producing three distinct single malt styles by altering its foundational production methods: the signature lightly peated and 2.5-times distilled Springbank, the heavily peated and double-distilled Longrow, and the unpeated, strictly triple-distilled Hazelburn. Hazelburn specifically takes its name from a legendary, long-lost neighboring Campbeltown distillery, reviving its memory through a light, complex, and unpeated spirit profile crafted across all three of Springbank's copper pot stills.

Kilkerran Heavily Peated Batch 14 is a robust single malt Scotch whisky from Campbeltown, produced at the Glengyle Distillery. Malted to 45 ppm and bottled at natural cask strength, this batch continues the series' signature combination of intense coastal smoke and classic Campbeltown complexity, matured in a cask combination of 90% ex-bourbon and 10% ex-sherry casks.

Tasting Notes:

The nose opens with aromas of honeycomb, toasted wholegrain bread, wood smoke, and coastal charcoal-grilled seafood. On the palate, it is full and oily, delivering rich notes of lemon biscuits, smoked ham, ripe melon, and salted caramel, underscored by well-integrated campfire peat. The finish is long and balanced, leaving lingering impressions of peat smoke, candied lemon peel, and a sweet, buttery mouthfeel.

Distillery:

Glengyle Distillery is located in Campbeltown, a region once recognized as the whisky capital of the world with over thirty active distilleries before a devastating decline left only a couple standing.

Originally founded in 1872 by William Mitchell, Glengyle closed its doors in 1925 and remained silent for nearly eight decades, its buildings repurposed and stills sold off. In 2004, J. & A. Mitchell & Co. (the owners of neighboring Springbank Distillery) triumphantly revived the estate, meticulously restoring the historic Victorian buildings and installing traditional production equipment, including cast-iron washbacks and direct-fired stills, to resurrect the legendary Kilkerran brand.

Today, Glengyle operates entirely independently and traditionally, utilizing 100% floor maltings shared with Springbank, employing traditional methods without chill-filtration or added coloring, and standing proudly as a cornerstone of Campbeltown's modern renaissance.
