Proefnotitie : 

Uiterlijk: Een mooie gouden kleur met een topaaskleurige rand.

Neus: Een krachtige neus met aroma's van gedroogd fruit, houttonen en heerlijke chocoladetonen.  

Smaak: In de mond is hij zacht en fluweelachtig. Een wijn met grote intensiteit, krachtige tannines en weelderige elegantie. Een lange en uitnodigende afdronk.

Het Huis : Calem is een gerenommeerd port merk uit Portugal. Het merk is al in 1859 door Antonio Alves Calem opgericht en is tegenwoordig een van de bekendste portfabrikanten. De wijngaarden waar de druiven worden verbouwd liggen langs de rivier de Douro en omvat 40.000 hectare. Het rijpen van de port vindt plaats in eikenhouten vaten in de kelders van Vila Nova de Gaia.

 Zijn fluweelzachte textuur en unieke aroma's combineren voortreffelijk met foie gras, gerechten met gedroogd fruit, en desserts zoals karamelsmaken brownies, chocolade en geitenkaas.

The progressive, meticulous reduction of the cognac’s ABV to 42% allows for the perfect balance between power and natural sweetness, emblematic of the Pale & Dry XO.

Tasting Notes :

Appearance : The hue is pale and subtle. A soft amber color, with delightful yellow tones.

Nose : Particularly delicate, notes of vanilla and apricot, enveloped by fresh notes of passion fruit, orange zest and almond.

Palate : Vanilla which blends into apricot aromas, highlighted by nuances of spices and ginger.

Finish: Intense and persistent, a perfectly balanced final touch of this rare cognac.

The mashbill for Woodford Reserve features a high percentage of rye: 72% corn, 18% rye and 10% malt. The whiskey is also unusual for being triple distilled and having the lowest proof upon entering the barrel where it matures for at least six years. A must have Kentucky bourbon. Makes a wonderful Old-Fashioned cocktail!

Tasting Notes: 

Appearance: Clean, brilliant honey amber. 

Nose: Heavy with rich dried fruit, hints of mint and oranges covered with a dusting of cocoa. Faint vanilla and tobacco spice.

Palate : Rich, chewy, rounded and smooth, with complex citrus, cinnamon and cocoa. Toffee, caramel, chocolate and spice notes abound.

Finish : Silky smooth, almost creamy at first with a long, warm satisfying tail.
